A good air barrier need a good installation method. There must be an air layer outside the air barrier.Because there is a lot of water vapor from the internal structure and condense on the air barrier into water droplets. The evaporation of water is usually in two conditions. One is with air flow; the other is with temperature rise. When there is an air layer on the outside of the air barrier, even in the shade where the temperature is not too high, it can also produce a slight air flow inside the air layer and cause the water to evaporate smoothly.If the air barrier is attached to the cladding tightly, especially on the shady side of the house, where the sunlight is not available and the temperature often fails to reach the evaporation temperature, the cladding will block the flow of air and slow down the evaporation of water.
